This summer of 2015 I visited Claude Monet’s gardens and home in Giverny,France. If heaven could have been on earth, I truly experienced it there. The famous lily pond lived beyond the expectation. The way sunlight danced on the water full of reflections of dark green trees and bejewelled with the colourful water lily etched the scenery in my mind with a strength that I will never be able to forget. Before I ever attempt to do colourful paintings from the pictures I brought back with me I wanted to capture this beautiful bridge covered with foliage around it overlooking the water lily pond in black and white skeleton sketch.
