Around the bamboo woods: Ink illustration on paper.
This piece in my ‘Portraits of landscapes’ series was painted with inspiration derived out of my first sight of Claude Monet’s gardens at Giverny. I took hundreds of pictures that day and consider it a life long pleasure to have been there. These bamboo woods were so dense that they created a natural wall for that hidden colourful heaven. The light shining through the trees gave this scenery a mystical feeling.
